Start : load image, main panel

Start application

Double-click on AbsoluteDeNoiser's icon on your desktop, or use the main menu entry obtain at installation step, to launch the software. You should get a starting panel, asking to open an image, like this :

This section is much more an evidence when using directly the software than reading explanations. I invite you to read it after trying the software, just to be sure of what occurs.

Choose an image (for example the "DVD.jpg" image that is in the "Demo" sub-directory). Many formats are possible : JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF, etc.. After a short calculation, you should get this (yellow labels were added for this documentation) :

Key control over panels

All image panels can be changed (when mouse is over) using key :
For the main image panel, the same can be obtained using the button B4 to B9.

Mouse control over panels

This section is much more an evidence when using directly the software than reading explanations. I invite you to read it after trying the software, just to be sure of what occurs.

When the mouse is over P1b, only the whole image is displayed, and when the mouse is over P1 but not over P1b, both the whole image and the working selection are displayed. It is then possible to display alternatively the result of the filtering on the working selection by moving the mouse over/out of P1b.

Before a calculation on the whole denoised image :

V1
The original version of the working selection is displayed in P1 and in V1 at the same time.
The original version of the whole image is displayed in P1, while the final denoised version of the working selection is displayed in P1b.
V2
The edges detection version of the working selection is displayed in P1 and in V2 at the same time. The original version of the whole image is displayed in P1, while the edges detection version of the working selection is displayed in P1b.
V3
The surfacing version of the working selection is displayed in P1, while the image that represent what was removed to the original image is displayed in V3. The original version of the whole image is displayed in P1, while the surfacing version of the working selection is displayed in P1b.
V4 The final denoised version of the working selection is displayed in P1, while the image that represent what was re-added to the surfaced version of the working selection by the texturing step is displayed in V4. The original version of the whole image is displayed in P1, while the final denoised version of the working selection is displayed in P1b.

After a calculation on the whole denoised image :

V1
The original version of the working selection is displayed in P1 and in V1 at the same time.
The original version of the whole image is displayed in P1, while the final denoised version of the working selection is displayed in P1b.
V2
The edges detection version of the working selection is displayed in P1 and in V2 at the same time. The previous edges detection version of the whole image is displayed in P1, while the new edges detection version of the working selection is displayed in P1b.
V3
The surfacing version of the working selection is displayed in P1, while the image that represent what was removed to the original image is displayed in V3. The previous surfacing version of the whole image is displayed in P1, while the new surfacing version of the working selection is displayed in P1b.
V4 The final denoised version of the working selection is displayed in P1, while the image that represent what was re-added to the surfaced version of the working selection by the texturing step is displayed in V4. The previous final denoised version of the whole image is displayed in P1, while the new final denoised version of the working selection is displayed in P1b.
